The oratory dates back to 1701, as attested by a consecration document found out on the altar. In the Rabbini cadastre, Mr. Azari Carlo fu Gabriele was mentioned as the ancient owner of the oratory. He came from Vigezzo, his family line ended in 1879. Over the years some owners followed after the inheritance of the priest Maffei Alfonso to his sister Maffei Enrichetta who died in 1932. In 2007 it became a private property of the current family living in the adjacent house. The oratory has always been a social and spiritual point of reference for the community of Melezzo; in addition, many religious functions were celebrated and several concerts took place there until a few years ago.

The oratory is oriented with the altar to the west and the small sacristy to the south. It is preceded by a small portico. The masonry is made of plastered stone and the roof is covered by the traditional stone slabs (piode) supported by a wooden structure. It has a single nave with frescoed vaults.
