Festa del Patrocinio

Dal 1727, anno della sua costruzione, il Santuario della Madonna del Patrocinio a Santino fu meta di infinite processioni penitenziali e propiziatorie di contadini, pastori e boscaioli. Ogni anno vi si svolge qui la festa del Patrocinio, la terza domenica di agosto, con la messa e l’incanto delle offerte. Un tempo i vari abitanti del territorio attorno portavano in quell'occasione, sulle spalle, damigiane di vino di loro produzione.

Since 1727, the year of its building, the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Patrocinio in Santino has been the destination of many penitential and propitiatory processions of farmers, shepherds and woodmen. Every year the patronal feast is held here, on the third Sunday of August, with the holy mass and the auction of the offerings. In the past, the inhabitants of the surrounding area carried demijohns of wine of their own production on their shoulders.
