The dairy of our times is located at the beginning of the village and it is the same one that the “Consorzio Latteria Turnaria” of Trontano, established in 1957, had built and inaugurated for the year 1958. The dairy is now operational thanks to the improvement of the building and processing plants. On the ground floor there is the cheese factory, while the upper rooms were used as the house for the dairyman on duty. Before this, in February 1933, there was a dairy on the ground floor of the building in via Chiesa where the female school of Trontano was established: the dairy below and the kindergarten above coexisted. The dairy had been built for the dairy processing in the winter season (from October to May) when the cattle were placed in the stables of the village and not in the mountain pastures. Almost all families owned cattle to produce butter, cheese, ricotta and “mascarpa”, both for personal livelihood and for sale.

The dairy was organized and managed by the members with the “turn” system. Today the dairy is used only by a few professional breeders.
