Costume tradizionale femminile

The outstanding element of the dress of Caprezzo is the hairstyle with the sword hair sticks, remembered also by the priest Don Varalli, who in 1920 tells us that “women were still wearing the sword hair sticks and on the head they had a large, long dark headscarf making them resemble nuns”. – From “Tanti superbi modi di ornarsi” –

The dress, fastened in front, consists of a wide and long skirt with thick folds in the back and a V-neckline bodice, with slightly gathered sleeves. The dress is dark, blue and black, in solid colour or with small floral decorations. The apron is also dark, while the blouse is light with a lace collar. The headscarf has a dark background and colourful floral decorations.
